Websites for food and hospitality

Websites for food and hospitality. Open, menu, book.

People check three things before they come: are you open, what's on the menu, and can they book or order. Answer those on the first screen and everything else is a bonus.

What your customers are looking for

1

Are you open right now?

Today's hours belong on the first screen, and they have to be right. Wrong hours on a website send people to a locked door.

2

The menu has to be words

A photo of a chalkboard or a PDF is hard to read on a phone, and search engines can't read it at all. A written menu with prices works for everyone.

3

They want to book or order direct

If you take bookings or orders, that button sits in the header of every page. Walk-in only? Then it's 'Get directions'.

What we put on the site

Every site starts from a checklist for food and hospitality, then changes to fit your business. This is the starting list, before we know the details.

  • Today's hours on the first screen, with the full week underneath
  • Your full menu written out, with prices and allergen information
  • One main button that fits how you work: Book a table, Order online, Send an enquiry or Get directions
  • Where you are, parking, transport and step-free access
  • Your own photos of the food, the room and the people
  • Your food hygiene rating, linked to the official site, if you'd like it shown

What every page is for

It depends how you work: booking a table, ordering, sending a catering enquiry or getting directions. We pick one and put it everywhere.

What we won't write on your site

Unless you can back it up, it doesn't go on.

  • 'Gluten-free' unless your kitchen really controls for it
  • 'Award-winning' without the award, who gave it and the year
  • 'Homemade', 'fresh' or 'local' for things that aren't
  • 'Healthy', 'superfood' or 'detox' claims

The five pages of a Starter site

This is what a £499 Starter site for food and hospitality is made of. Legal pages like privacy come on top and don't count towards the five.

  1. 1
    Home

Today's hours, a few menu highlights and the main button.

  2. 2
    Menu

The full menu as text, with prices and allergen signposting.

  3. 3
    Book, order or enquire

The page that does the main job.

  4. 4
    About

Your story, your people and your suppliers.

  5. 5
    Find us

Map, parking, transport, access and full hours.

Which package usually fits

Four fixed prices, paid once. We'll tell you honestly which one suits you, and it's often not the biggest.

One page

Plenty for a small café or takeaway: hours, menu, where you are and one button.

£375
Usually the right fit

Starter

The menu, booking and find-us details each get a page that can be found and shared.

£499

Complete

Adds drinks, what's on, private hire or catering, a gallery and an allergen page.

£799

Bespoke

Suits bars, restaurants and venues people visit for the experience. A takeaway or café is usually better on Complete.

from £1,500

No VAT to add. Starter is up to five pages and Complete is about ten. Bespoke is priced after a 15-minute call. Every price, in full

Who this covers

The same checklist works for all of these. If your business is close but not listed, it almost certainly fits here too.

Questions food and hospitality ask

Can people order through my site?

Yes, if you take direct orders. The Order button goes to the ordering service you already use.

How do allergens work on the site?

Every menu page signposts it: either the allergen information for each dish, or a clear line asking people to talk to you, depending on how your kitchen handles it.

My hours change with the seasons.

Send us the new hours and we'll change them. Keeping them right matters more than almost anything else on a food site.

Where your customers are

We're in Basildon and build for businesses across Essex and east London. These ten towns each have their own page.
