What happens when you ring

Five steps. No surprises in any of them.

One person answers, and it’s usually the person who turns up.

  1. You call Ben

Tell us what it’s doing. A photo on text helps.

  2. We give a time

You get a likely cause, the price basis and when we can be there.

  3. We arrive

A named engineer, with ID, inside the time we gave you.

  4. You say yes

The price is agreed before any work starts. Or you say no.

  5. We fix it

Tested in front of you. You pay by card, cash or transfer.

Water everywhere? Turn off the stopcock, then call.

It’s usually under the kitchen sink. Clockwise to close. We’ll talk you through it on the phone if you can’t find it.

While you wait

Three things that stop it getting worse.

You don’t need tools for any of these. If you’re unsure, stop and call us instead.

Leak or burst

Stopcock off, electrics near the water off, cold taps open to drain the pipes. Catch drips in a bowl.

Boiler locked out

Note the code, check the pressure gauge is between 1 and 1.5 bar, and reset once. Don’t keep resetting it.

Overflowing toilet

Lift the cistern lid and pull the float up to stop the water. Turn the isolation valve with a flat screwdriver.

Smell gas? Leave the property first.Don’t use switches or flames. Call the National Gas Emergency Service, free, day and night.
