Questions about fees

Is the conveyancing fee really fixed?

Yes. The legal fee in your quote is the fee you pay, even if the move takes longer than planned. If something new comes up, like a gifted deposit, we tell you the extra fee in writing before doing the work.

What if my sale or purchase falls through?

You pay for the work done so far, up to half the legal fee, plus any searches already ordered. We tell you the figure before we stop.

When do I pay?

For a purchase, £150 on account at the start to pay for searches. Everything else is on the completion statement, paid from the money that moves on completion day.

Can I see you in the evening?

Yes. We offer video calls until 7pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and home visits for wills within 10 miles of Rayleigh.

Do you work with my estate agent's preferred conveyancer?

We don't pay or receive referral fees. If an agent recommends us, they get nothing for it.

How long does a will take?

About two weeks from our meeting to signing, depending on how quickly you return the draft.
